Eligibility requires candidates aged 18–30 to hold a Class 10th (SSLC) pass alongside an ITI, relevant 3-year Diploma, or B.E./B.Tech degree, in addition to meeting strict A-1 medical vision standards. The selection process follows a multi-stage model: screening via CBT 1, main technical testing via CBT 2, a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and final Document Verification with Medical Examination. Under the latest notification guidelines, General Awareness has been removed from CBT 1, focusing solely on Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Science. Additionally, the final merit calculation has been updated to give equal weightage—50% each—to CBT 2 Part A and the CBAT score.
